Sometimes in the game of football, the scoreboard doesn’t necessarily reflect the stats. That was just the case Friday night as South Winneshiek opened its season against Starmont.
“We came out and established a nice opening drive, but came up empty on the scoreboard,” said coach Jason Ohrt after the game. “Unfortunately, we had that issue multiple times throughout the game.”
Despite outgaining the Stars in total yardage by a 278-126 margin, the Warriors fell to 0-1 on the season as they came up on the short end of a 14-9 final score.
