Lois Jellings

Friends and relatives are invited to help Lois (Schweinefus) Jellings celebrate her 90^th birthday from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 610 State Street in Clermont.

Lois grew up and graduated from high school in Clermont in 1943. She currently resides in Clinton with her husband.

Irma Luzum

Irma Luzum of St. Lucas will be the guest of honor at an open house celebrating her 90^th birthday.

Hosted by her children, the celebration will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the St. Lucas Community Center.

All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

Born Oct. 3, 1925, on the family farm just north of St. Lucas, Irma (Schmitt) has lived in the St. Lucas area her entire life.

She married Arnold Luzum in 1947. He is now deceased.

Lorraine Wangsness

An open house will be held Sunday, Sept. 20, to help Lorraine (Bergland) (Anderson) Wangsness celebrate her 90^th birthday. The celebration will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Activity Room at Arlin Falck Assisted Living, 911 Ridgewood Drive in Decorah.

All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

The family requests no gifts, please – with one exception: You are invited to bring written “Lorraine” memories to be included in a special scrapbook.

Lois Schweinefus Jellings

Lois Schweinefus Jellings will celebrate her 90th birthday on Sat. Sept 26th from 12-4 pm at the Brick Manor Bed and Breakfast in Clermont.

Lois was born on Sept 26,1925 on a farm near Castalia.  She grew up in Clermont and graduated from Clermont High School in 1943.  She married Clarence Jellings of West Union on Dec. 28, 1945.  Her parents were Henry and Myrtle Schweinefus of Clermont.

She has 4 children, 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  She currently lives in Clinton,Iowa with her husband of almost 70 years.

Friends and family are invited to join her in celebrating.  No gifts please.

Mahayla Hanson

Joel and Megan Hanson of Cedar Rapids are happy to announce the birth of their daughter, Mahayla Bernadine. 

Mahayla was born Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.  She weighed 9 lbs. 3 oz. and measured 21½ inches in length. 

Mahayla was named after her great-great-grandmother Mahala Radloff and her great-grandmother Bernadine Heffern.

Grandparents are Mick and Mary Olson and Don and Janet Hanson, all of Postville. 

Great-grandparents are Bob Heffern of Waukon and Edna Huinker of Ossian.

Lois Pape will celebrate her 80^th birthday on Monday, Sept. 14.

Majella Koudelka

Majella Koudelka of New Hampton, formerly of Little Turkey, will celebrate her 100^th birthday on Sunday, Sept. 6, with an open house for family and friends.

The celebration will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center, located at 703 South Fourth Avenue.

Majella’s family includes two daughters, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband, James, is deceased.

Mr. and Mrs. Steven Zobel

Steven and Tracy Zobel of Traer celebrated their 25^th anniversary on Sept. 1.

Steven Zobel and Tracy Moellers were married Sept. 1, 1990, at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union.  

Tracy is the daughter of Theresa Moellers of West Union and the late Ralph Moellers.

Steven is a dairy farmer, and Tracy works for Quicken Loans. They have four children, Taylor, Allison, Samantha, and Brian.

In celebration of their parents’ anniversary, the couple’s children invite friends and relatives to shower Steven and Tracy with cards and notes.
