Wally and LaFonda McIntyre

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Hawkeye’s newest octogenarians with an evening of fun on Friday, June 3, at the Hawkeye Community Hall.

Wally McIntyre, who will turn 80 on June 3, and his wife, LaFonda, whose 80^th birthday is on June 12, will begin their celebration with food and fellowship at 5 p.m. with cards (euchre) to follow at 7 p.m.

All are welcome to join the festivities.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haberichter of Clover, Mo., will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. 

Their children and grandchildren will be hosting an open house in their honor from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Clover Fire Station in Clover, Mo.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Holm

Bob and Marlene Holm of West Union will celebrate their 60^th wedding anniversary on Monday, May 30.

Robert Holm and Marlene Schutz were married May 30, 1956, in Endicott, Wash.  They made their first home in Twenty Nine Palms, Calif., while Bob was in the U.S. Marines.  They spent a short time in Endicott and Denver, Iowa, before settling in West Union.   

Bob started as a State Farm Insurance agent and Marlene was a homemaker, wife and secretary for the insurance agency.  They would spend 40 years involved in the community, schools, and church before moving to Harpers Ferry for their retirement years.  Last year, they returned to West Union to be closer to healthcare facilities and their local grandchildren.

Josephine Heying

Josephine “Jo” Heying of West Union will celebrate her 100^th birthday on Sunday, May 22.

In recognition of this milestone in Jo’s life, her family would like to honor her with a card shower. Richard and Georgia Klein of Clermont will celebrate their 60^th wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 21.

The couple will mark the occasion with a Mass and family brunch.

Richard Klein and Georgia Reekers were married May 21, 1956, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheldon.

Their family includes three children, Jeffrey of Monona, Trisha (deceased), and Brenda (Terry) Olson of Postville, and five grandchildren.

Taylor Lee Buhrow of Maynard and Garrick William Reinking of Fairbank exchanged marriage vows in a 2:30 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, April 9, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Westgate. The Rev. Herbert Mueller officiated.

Parents of the couple are Theresa Bachman of Maynard, Kelvin Buhrow of Maynard, and Kent and Sheila Reinking of Oelwein.
