A burial service was held for Dean Timm at Wilson Grove cemetery near Sumner Iowa on June 5, 2021. The burial was delayed two years. In 1965 Dean willed his body for science to the College of Medicine at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

Dean Charles Timm, age 86, of Boone, Iowa passed away Wednesday June 5, 2019 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home. Dean was born May 18, 1933 in Hawkeye, Iowa to Ervin and Verla (Gager) Timm. He was the fourth of eight children. He graduated from Hawkeye High School in 1951. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957 as an MP stationed in Germany.

Dean married Marion Gorball of Forest City on November 28, 1958 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He is survived by his wife and four children: Randolph of Charles City, Richard of Waterloo, Jennifer (Michael) Gibson of Mankato, Minnesota and Barbara (Michael) MacDougall of Boone.

Grandchildren and great-grandchildren include: Kari (Randy) Drips [Destiny, Taylor, Jade], Eric (Wendy) Timm [Markus, Charlotte, Carley, Alexandria, Anastasia, Addison], Christopher Timm, Melissa (Rob) Huffman [Nolan, Luke, Max, Cooper], Alecia Gibson, Briana (Robert) Johnson [Luciana, McKenzie, Erica, Sandra, Gonzalo], Joshua (Ashley) Gibson [Colton], Brandon (Caitlin) MacDougall [Fen, Indigo], Tiffany Timm [Landon, Brendan] and Nathan (Khrystyne) MacDougall [Crew, Kanynn]. Dean and Marion also cared for over 25 children in foster care.

Dean is also survived by two sisters, Joyce (James) Pattison of Fayette and Peggy (George) Cabalka of Manchester and sister-in-law Patsy (Verl) Timm of West Union. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister June (Charles) McLeish, brothers Jerald, Darvin, Verl and Dennys, and daughter-in-law Peggy Henson (Richard).

Dean was a machinist, pastor, security guard and shoe repairman. As a Methodist and EUB pastor he served churches in Southern and Northeast Iowa. He was active in Methodist men's ministry, Hawkeye Conservation Club, Boy Scout leadership, Camps Farthest Out, CFOI, United Prayer Tower, Iowans for Israel, Boone County Genealogy, Lions Club, Habitat for Humanity, Bugles Across America, Sons of the American Revolution and hospital chaplaincy and music ministry.

Dean loved basketball, square dancing, photography, roller skating, football, fishing, card games, woodworking, camping, genealogy and singing. He most loved to minister to those going through life's trials, particularly through his music ministry.
