Betty Morse

Betty "Beth" Morse, 73, of Hawkeye, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

  Funeral services wereheld at 9 a.m. on Saturday June 26, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye with Rev. Ron Roberts officiating. Burial followed in Alpha Cemetery near Alpha, Iowa.

  A public visitation was held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday June 25, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye.

  Beth was born in Paletine, Illinois on March 26, 1948 to Lee and Lois Mae (Suess) Wilkie. Beth attended grade school in Alpha and North High in West Union.

  Beth was a member of the Lions Club, Hawkeye Community Club Member and worked as the manager of Tex’s Bar & Grill. She enjoyed fishing and going out to eat.

  Beth enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Family meant a lot to her. 

  Her favorite memory is when she met her husband, Tex Kohlmeyer in 1970. The couple married in 2001, but they were together for 46 years before he passed away in 2016. It was the saddest day of Beth’s life. 

  Beth is survived by her children, Robin (George) Streeter of Hawkeye and Roxanne (Jerry) Bixler of Perry, Iowa, Mike (Wanda) Kohlmeyer of Hawkeye; grandchildren, Stephanie Streeter, Samantha Streeter, McKenzie (Jacob) Bixler-Lovell, Alexis Bixler, Mellisa Garrison, Kristan (Blake) Jones, Stephanie Bixler, Presley Kohlmeyer, and Amanda (Jeff) Conner; a brother Roy (Vickie) Schurtleff of Waterville and sister Diane (Dan) Pishke of West Union.

  Her husband and parents preceded her in death.
