South Winn’s Carson Wenthold competed at the Class 1A District Golf Tournament at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls on Friday.

The sophomore standout carded a 90 to finish tied for 14th at the Tournament, which was won by East Buchanan (345). AGWSR also advanced to State with a 347-stroke performance.

“Carson played a much better round than it might seem,” said coach Mike Wenthold on Friday evening. “The weather was terrible for the first couple of hours and everybody around the course struggled.”

Coach Wenthold went on to say that Carson’s game improved as the day went on.

“When the weather cleared up, he showed his potential – even on a course that I didn’t think really set up that well for him,” closed Coach Wenthold. “We’re very proud of what he’s accomplished this season!”
