Aaron Hackman, age 56, of Nixa, Missouri, formerly of Festina, IA passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at his home of natural causes.

Aaron Gerard Hackman was born on November 13, 1964 in West Union, Iowa to Norbert and Elnore (Schaufenbuel) Hackman.  He attended grade school in Festina and St Aloysius Catholic School in Calmar.  He went to Turkey Valley High School and graduated in 1983.  Following high school, he enlisted in the Army on September 1, 1983 and served 2 years in Germany and 2 years in Arizona.

After the Army, he enrolled and graduated from Devry Institute in Kansas City, Missouri in 1990.  He went to work at Polaris Computer Company, Kansas City, MO for about a year and then moved to Springfield, MO and worked for Tracker Boats for quite a few years and then most recent 10 years at Associated Wholesale Grocery as a forklift mechanic.  He was well liked and respected by his fellow employees.  He enjoyed the 3rd shift and at one time he was offered 1st shift with his seniority and experience, however he declined, as he liked working nights.

Aaron was a lifelong member of the Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church and Catholic Order of Foresters in Festina, Iowa.

Aaron enjoyed hunting of all kinds--even for morel mushrooms.  He would come to Iowa every late fall for deer hunting with family and has several trophy deer mounts.  Hunting for Aaron was a peaceful time away in the woods and nature. Aaron preferred the challenge of using a muzzleloader or single shotgun to harvest his deer, and with these older weapons he still had superb accuracy.

He also enjoyed his time with family and friends with many laughs.  He was able to spend a couple days with the nieces and nephews vacation in August of 2020 in Branson, MO.  He was an extremely avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.  His time off was usually spent tinkering at his home doing various repairs for himself and others.

He is survived by his partner in life for 30 years and fiancé: Teresa Odem from Springfield, MO. His father; Norbert Hackman (Mary Russett) Ft. Atkinson, IA siblings; Michael & Alice (Schaufenbuel) Hackman, Waucoma, IA, Mark Hackman, Tulsa, OK, Myron Hackman, Ft.
