Property tax rate to jump slightly in Fayette

Residents of Fayette will see their city property tax rate take a small jump for the next fiscal year, not go down as stated in an article that appeared in the March 17 edition of the Union.

The City Council approved the fiscal year 2022 budget at the regular meeting, Monday, March15, with a tax rate of $13.95 per $1000 of valuation. That is about 5-cents higher than the current rate of $13.91.
