Marlene Mayo

Marlene Mayo, 89, of Hawkeye, died Saturday, February 13, 2021, at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner. Born: October 30, 1931, to Albert and Hertha (Albrecht) Uttecht in Chicago, Illinois. Marriage: to Frank Lee Mayo, December 30, 1949, at the Hawkeye Methodist Church. (d. May 23, 2016) Survivors: son, Tom (Deb) Mayo of Hawkeye; two grandchildren, Christopher (Kristin) Mayo and Heather Dowd; five great-grandchildren, Landon, Liam, and Lincoln Dowd, and Madison and Alexis Mayo; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Warnke.

A private family funeral services will be held at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Hawkeye. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery, rural Hawkeye at a later date. Memorials may be made in Marlene’s name to Otter Creek Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 336, Hazelton, Iowa 50641.
