Barbara Scheidel

Barbara Jo Scheidel, age 68, of Ossian, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021. Barb was born on May 2, 1952, the daughter of Harold and Pearl (Schultz) Scheidel in Postville, Iowa. She graduated from South Winneshiek High School in 1968. After graduation, she attended Paris Academy of Cosmetology in Cedar Rapids. She then went to work at Norplex in Postville and worked there for the past forty-four years. 

Barb enjoyed reading books, playing cards and knitting. She was especially fond of all her nieces, great- nieces and nephews.

Barb is survived by her two brothers: Mike (Deb) Scheidel and Mark (Nancy) Scheidel of Ossian. Her nieces, Heather (T.J.) Tigges, Kari (Kory) Hageman of Calmar, Nicole (James) Martinson of Santa Rosa, California, Katie (Casey) Wiltgen of Calmar and Ashley Scheidel (Phil Ohnemus) of Des Moines. Great nieces and nephews: Miriah and Shira Hageman, Brekin and Briar Tigges, and Blake and Maci Wiltgen.

A private mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Ossian, Iowa with Rev. Robert Gross as the celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery, Ossian, Iowa.

Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Ossian, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
