According to Krista Vanden Brink, administrator for Winneshiek County Public Health, over 500 COVID-19 vaccinations have been given to healthcare workers in the county.

The vaccinations began to roll out during the last week of December 2020, with employees at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah and Gundersen Healthcare System clinics throughout the county receiving them. Last week, the vaccinations were administered to area EMTs, including those in the Ossian area on Tuesday evening, Dec. 29, 2020.

Vanden Brink noted that the vaccinations will continue to be administered throughout the area as they become available. She stated that the order of those next in line to receive them is not yet known.
