Judith Ann Weidemann was born on May 3, 1940 in the family home at rural Hawkeye, Iowa, the daughter of Paul Samuel & Eileen Johanna (Tubbs) Weidemann.  She attended Bethel #3 Country School and graduated from Hawkeye High School in the class of 1958.  Judy was united in marriage to Jesse Marvin Buckmaster on December 3, 1961 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye.  They were blessed with two children, Larry and Julie.  In addition to being a homemaker, Judy had also worked at Buds N Blossom in Oelwein, Bland’s Floral Shop in Independence and Meyer Lincoln Hardware in Oelwein.  Judy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye, the Lima Ladies Aid and the Oelwein Lions Club.

She enjoyed embroidering, flowers and gardening.  Judy had a generous heart.  For many years she showed her love by making cookies to share with everyone.  When her memory started to fail, the illness could not take away her love that drew her caregivers to be so close to her.  This was evident on the last day of Judy’s life as they all stood around her bed and shared their stories and memories of “Grandma Judy” without a dry eye in the room.

Judy is survived by her Son: Larry Buckmaster of Wadena; Daughter: Julie (Mike) Bohr of Castalia; 4 Grandchildren:  Benjamin Buckmaster of Saint Louis Park, Minnesota, Aimee Buckmaster of Winona, Minnesota, Jade Bohr (Dan Hovden) of Decorah &  Dallas Bohr of Festina; Sister: Linda (Charter) Leete of Oelwein; Brother:  Richard (Beverly) Weidemann of Hawkeye and 5 Nephews:  Scott Weidemann, Kurt Weidemann, Chad Weidemann, Dan Leete & Jon Leete.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Marvin “Buck” on April 11, 2006 and a nephew: William Charter Leete.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Ossian Senior Hospice for the excellent care they gave to

“Grandma Judy.”
