David A. Reay, 67, of Randalia, Iowa, died on Sunday morning, May 10, 2020 at his home with his family at his side.

A Graveside Service for family and close friends will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Long Grove Cemetery in Maynard, Iowa with Rev. Herbert C. Mueller, III officiating.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be required.  Those in attendance are suggested to wear a mask at the service.

We encourage relatives and friends not able to attend the service to reach out to the family by leaving a message on the funeral home web site, by mail, text or phone.  

Memorials may be directed in his name to his family.

David Allan Reay was born February 2, 1953, at Waverly, Iowa, the son of Harry Thomas and Lorraine Martha (Kuepker) Reay.  In 1971, he graduated from West Central High School in Maynard.  On August 4, 1974, he was united in marriage to Sharon Rosanne Hooper at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Westgate, Iowa.  David started farming after high school and farmed in the Randalia area until his retirement.  David was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Westgate.  He enjoyed farming and sports.  David especially enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sports events.

David is survived by his wife: Sharon Reay of Randalia; 3 children: Thomas (Heather) Reay of Houston, Minnesota, James (Jessica) Reay of Lincoln, Nebraska and Jennifer (Ronnie) Pattison of Oelwein; 11 grandchildren: Claire Reay, Garret Reay, Hope (Austin) Fohrman, Josie Schultz (Alec Welp) and Jessica (Issac) Alexander, Owen Reay and Ella Reay and Kaitlyn Pattison, Aidan Pattison, Brendan Pattison and Ainsley Pattison; 3 great grandchildren: Adeline Welp and Chandler and Anastasia Fohrman; 4 brothers-in-law: Aaron (Christie) Hooper of Houston, Texas, David (Bonnie) Hooper of Crockett, Texas, Brian (Tracie) Hooper of Austin, Texas and

Steven (Sonja) Hooper of Freeport, Texas; sister-in-law: Karen (Michael) Vordenbaum of Pasadena, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and parents-in-law: Claude and Alice Hooper.
