Veterans Day programs at SW

South Winneshiek will host two honorary Veteran’s Day programs on Monday, Nov. 11.

The first program will begin at 8:45 a.m. at the Elementary Middle School when coffee and donuts will be served to local veterans.

Following coffee and donuts, middle school students will read their Veteran’s Day poems to veterans.

Elementary students will be assembling a Veteran Wreath comprised of names of all of the friends and family they know or have known that have served or are currently serving our country. The wreath will be on display for the students and community to admire as they walk the hallway of the school throughout the entire month of November.

At South Winneshiek High School, a Veterans Day program will be held in the gymnasium at 10:30 a.m. and will feature readings from the South Winn student government, music by the choir and band, and an introduction of local veterans in attendance.
