Polling places will be according to precinct of residence

Both city and school elections will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5.  The polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Both city and school voters must vote in their precinct of residence. 

County Auditor Lori Moellers has announced that voting locations have changed. For those unsure of your voting precinct for this election,  Moellers says to contact her at 563-422-3497 or by e-mail lmoellers@co.fayette.ia.us. You may also verify the voting location for your home address at: https://sos.iowa.gov/ elections/voterreg/pollingplace/search.aspx.

 The precinct polling places and addresses for this election are as follows:

Auburn & Eden: St. Lucas Community Center, 101 W. Main, St. Lucas, (for all voters who live in Auburn or Eden Townships, including the City of St. Lucas and the City of Waucoma).

Banks-Fremont: Westgate Community Building, 184 Main St., Westgate, (for all voters who live in Banks-Fremont Township, including the City of Westgate and the voters of the City of Sumner who live in Fayette County.

Bethel-Windsor: Hawkeye Public Library, 104 S. 2nd St., Hawkeye, (for all voters who live in Bethel –Windsor Township, including the City of Hawkeye).

Dover & Union: West Union Community Library – East Entrance, 210 N. Vine St., West Union,  (for all voters who live in Dover or Union Townships, does not include the City of West Union).

West Union Wards 1, 2 & 3: Courthouse Assembly Room, 114 N. Vine St., West Union, (for all voters who live in the City of West Union ).

Center & Harlan: Maynard Community Library, 245 Main St., Maynard, (for all voters who live in Center or Harlan Townships, including the City of Randalia and the City ofcMaynard).

Jefferson and Scott: Oelwein Legion Hall, 108 1st. St. SW, Oelwein, (for all voters who live in Jefferson and Scott Townships and the voters of the City of Stanley who live in Fayette County).

Oelwein Ward 1 & Oelwein Ward 3: Oelwein Public Library, Mgt. Rm. – East Entrance, 201 E. Charles St., Oelwein, (for all voters who live in the City of Oelwein, Wards 1 and 3 only).

 Oelwein Ward 2 & Oelwein Ward 4: Oelwein Community Plaza, 25 W. Charles St., Oelwein, (for all voters who live in the City of Oelwein, Wards 2 & 4 only).

Clermont & Pleasant Valley: NFV Community Coalition Building, 23689 Canoe Rd., Elgin, (for all voters who live in Clermont or Pleasant Valley Townships, including the City of Clermont, the City of Elgin).

Fairbank Inc. and Oran: Oran Community Hall, 5054 Main St., Oran, IA (For all voters who live in Oran Township and the portion of Fairbank, Inc. that is in Fayette County).

Fairfield-Putnam: Arlington Community Event Center, 853 Main St., Arlington, (for all voters who live in FairfieldPutnam Township, including the City of Arlington).

Illyria: Wadena Library, 136 South Mill, Wadena, (for all voters who live in Illyria Township including the City of Wadena).

Smithfield & Westfield: Fayette Library ICN Room, 104 W. State St., Fayette,  (for all voters who live in Smithfield and Westfield Townships, including the City of Fayette).

 All polling places for this election are handicapped accessible, however, any voter who is physically unable to enter the polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle.  Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identifi cation at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered – such as voters registering to vote on Election Day – and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required) 1) may have the voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, 2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents, or 3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the county auditor’s offi ce by noon on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

 Absentee ballots are available from the County Auditor prior to Election Day. They may be voted in the office through Monday, Nov. 4. Absentee request forms are available from the Auditor or at: sos.iowa.gov. A facsimile of the official ballot accompanies this notice.
