Before West Central’s last home contest of the season against second-ranked Turkey Valley, head coach Steve Milder said, “Turkey is so fast. We just can’t match their speed and depth.”

The Trojans proved Milder a prophet as they raced to a 30-point advantage in the first quarter.

TV’s defense was also   very good, limiting WC to 56 yards on the ground and 104 through the air. The Devils also coughed up the ball three times on fumbles and were picked off once.

Dan McDonough went 11-25 through the air with the one pick. Aiden Nelson caught five passes for 38 yards. Creighton Houge, Anthony Martin, and Logan Westcott had two receptions apiece, for nine, 22, and 35 yards, respectively.

Brandon Cushion had six carries for 26 yards and Alan Orr added 16 yards on three rushes.

Dalton Vick and Westcott led the defense with 10 tackles apiece.

Milder summarized the game when he stated, “We played hard but Turkey Valley just had too many weapons and they executed well.”

Next for the Devils is a road trip to Springville to face the 5-3 Orioles.
