Harry Henry

 

Harry Norman Henry, 80, of West Union, Iowa died Friday, July 26, 2019with his family by his side at Sumner Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner, Iowa. Harry was born February 23, 1939 to Donald and Gladys (Grimes) Henry in West Union, Iowa. He graduated from Fayette High School and attended one year at Iowa State University. 

 

Harry was united in marriage with Corlinda “Elaine” Moore on January 31, 1958 in Waterloo, Iowa. To this marriage seven children were born, known to many friends as Harry and Elaine and the 7K’s. Harry loved get togethers with all the family, through the noise and chaos you could often hear his laughter. Most days you would find Harry in his shop whistling while working on one of his many projects. Harry enjoyed campouts with his family and friends.  As well as the annual fishing trip up north with the guys! Harry was owner and operator of Harry Henry Electric, Plumbing and Heating and also worked for Allen Hospital in Waterloo for ten years. He was a volunteer firefighter on the West Union Fire Department for twenty-five years. 

 

Harry is survived by his children, Kelly (Anthony) Milano of Denver, Colorado, Kim Rose of Westgate,

Karla Michel of Hazelton, Iowa, Konnie (James) Will of Hazleton, Iowa, Kyle (Lynnette) Henry of West Union, Iowa, Kandice (James) Stenseth of Calmar, Iowa and Carrie Johnson of West Union, Iowa; sons-in-law, Blaine Hanson of West Union, Iowa; Randy Rose of Westgate; Dave Wiedow of West Union;  thirty-two grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara (Dave) Fulton of Springfield, Missouri. 

 

Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Corlinda “Elaine" Henry; parents, Donald and Gladys (Grimes) Henry; daughter, Krisinda Hanson; and three great-grandchildren, Ian Welch, Ethan Welch and Kaylee Welch.

 

A Celebration of Life and Gathering will be at West Union Fire Department, West Union, Iowa on September 14, 2019 from 1-5 pm.

 

Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of West Union, Iowa is helping the family with arrangements.
