C’mon down area families and friends!   The fourth annual Clermont BBQ in the Park is right around the corner! 

The Monday, July 15 event, which is hosted by the Clermont Community Club, will be held at the Clermont park starting at 4 p.m.  

Proceeds from this event will go towards helping to fund future events such as Halloween for Kids, the annual Santa Store, and the Easter Egg Hunt.  Proceeds will also go towards the Miss Clermont Scholarship, maintenance of Hart-Parr buildings as well as the park shelters.

The annual event, which started four years ago when the Clermont Community Club decided to begin a summer park event, will also feature a silent auction from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. featuring over 35 items donated by local businesses. 

The freewill-donation meal for the July 15 event will begin at 5 p.m. and will include hamburgers, brats, hotdogs, beans, chips, dessert bars and lemonade. Cotton candy and pop will be for sale at $1 each.   

 As always, there will be a raffle drawing at 6:30 p.m.  This years raffle includes a variety of amazing prizes such as a Kayak, donated by Farm Fleet in Elkader; Gas Grill, donated by Thrivent; Battery Operated Gator, donated by Bodensteiner Implement and over $175 of Farm Toys, donated by Iowa Diecast Toys. 

Raffle Tickets can be purchased prior to the BBQ at Iowa Diecast Toys, Dean Chiropractic, Alesha's Salon, Kerndt Bros Bank, Body Kneads Salon & The Green Door prior to the CCC BBQ.  Tickets can be purchased at the event up until the drawing begins.  Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.  

New to this years event will be Balloon Artist, Tristan Hauser who will be making balloon creations for young attendees from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. that evening.  Also new this year will be a live music performance by Steve Schroeder from 4:30p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Returning events include, a pie auction starting at 6 p.m., a bouncy house from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., water balloon games from 5 p.m. to 6p.m., giant bubbles from 4:30 p.m. to 7p.m., lawn dice and bags games will be available throughout.  The evening will top off with the kids annual water balloon toss at 7:15 p.m. 

  The rain date for the event will be Tuesday, July 16th.

“It’s a fun day for all,” said Clermont Community Club member Tracy Johnson of the event.  “It’s not just for Clermont residents.  Anyone and everyone is welcome; it’s all about having fun!”
