Theresa Mary Moellers, 86, of West Union, Iowa died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Ossian Senior Hospice, Ossian, Iowa.  Theresa Mary was born December 6, 1932 to William Joseph and Hildegarde Bridget (Heying) Bohr in Ossian, Iowa. She graduated from DeSales High School, Ossian, Iowa in 1950.

Theresa was united in marriage with Ralph Bernard Moellers on August 16, 1950 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, Iowa. They were blessed with twelve children. She was a member of Holy Name Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters, American Legion Auxiliary and was an election worker for many, many years. Theresa was a friendly person, quick to laugh and loved to give orders to her flock – there was always a to-do list. She enjoyed gardening and pioneered the first farmers market in the area. Theresa hobbies included sewing, crocheting, playing cribbage, cards, Scrabble and square dancing.

Theresa is survived by her children, Yvonne (Willie) Kerr of Clermont, Iowa, Debra (Clyde) Franzen of Ossian, Iowa; Zandra (Reuben) Hageman of Festina, Iowa; Norine (Cliff) Hemesath of Ossian, Iowa; Jeff (Anna Marie) Moellers of Arlington, Iowa; Kevin (Stacy) Moellers of Ft. Atkinson, Iowa; Alisa (David) Grande of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Karen (Dale) Huber of Spillville, Iowa; Steve (Kay) Moellers of North Liberty, Iowa; Jason (Lori) Moellers of West Union, Iowa; Tracy (Steve) Zobel of Traer, Iowa and Holly (Paul) Skopec of Spirit Lake, Iowa; forty one grandchildren; seventy great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; siblings, Cyril (Margaret) Bohr of Ossian, Iowa, Bill (special friend, Leta) Bohr, Jr. of Dubuque, Iowa, Donna Rask of White Bear Lake, Minnesota and Jim (Jeannie) Bohr of Protivin, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Moellers; parents, William and Hildegarde Bohr; siblings, Delores Riniker, Vern Bohr, Rosemary Gerleman, Gertrude Novak, Joan Hennis, Hildegarde Bohr and Jerome Bohr; sisters-in-law, Agnes Bohr, Lorraine Bohr, Mary Kay Bohr; and brothers-in-law, Matt Gerleman, Walt Hennis, Gene Novak, Don Rask, Paul Riniker.

Visitation was held Friday, May 31, 2019 from 3-7 p.m. with a 2:45 p.m. Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. Scripture Service at Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, West Union, Iowa. There was also a one hour visitation before Mass at the church on Saturday.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Holy Name Catholic Church, West Union, Iowa with Rev. Daniel Knipper as the Celebrant.

Burial followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery, West Union, Iowa. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Knights of Columbus Cemetery Fund, Council #4287.

Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, West Union, Iowa is helping the family with the arrangements.
