Sharil Mae Ogle, 83, of Wadena, Iowa died Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society in West Union, Iowa.  She was born June 25, 1935 to Clyde and Beulah (Ferguson) Ramsey in Marshalltown, Iowa. Sharil was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Arlington, Iowa. After graduating high school, she attended Upper Iowa and earned her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and History.

Sharil was united in marriage with Joe Ogle on June 15, 1956 at St. John Lutheran Church in Arlington, Iowa. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Arlington, Illyria Community Church, Illyria Ladies Aide, Tertia Club and was president of Illyria Cemetery Association for twenty years. Sharil enjoyed traveling, her favorites included celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in Chanhassen, cruises to Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean, bus trips, 40th anniversary trip to the Wisconsin Dells and going to Branson, Missouri. In her spare time, Sharil liked antiquing, reading, cooking, gardening, shopping and attending her grandchildren’s activities.  She taught first grade for thirty-eight years for Valley Community Schools.

Sharil is survived by her husband, Joe Ogle of Wadena, Iowa; daughter, Jane (Scott) Sodergren of Osceola, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Shaun (Hollie) Guyer, Luke (Devin) Sodergren, Lindsey (John) Kelly, Thomas Guyer and Mikki Sodergren; great-grandchildren, Alexa Guyer, Jace Guyer, Beckett Kelly and Nolan Kelly; son-in-law, David Guyer; and one brother, Marl (Gretchen) Ramsey of Green Valley, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Beulah Ramsey; daughter, Becky Guyer; and brother, Richard Ramsey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sharil’s honor may be made to Illyria Cemetery Endowment Fund.

Funeral Services will be at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Illyria Community Church, Elgin, Iowa with a one hour visitation before services at the church on Tuesday.

There will be a private family Inurnment.

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elgin, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
