Charles Eugene Schott, 64, of West Union Iowa died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette, Iowa.  Charles was born August 24, 1954 to Lawrence Leon and Doris Marie (Nyborg) Schott in West Union, Iowa.  He was baptized at Wesleyan Methodist Church in West Union, Iowa.  Charles went to North and Valley Schools, and later earned his GED.

Charles was united in marriage with Betty Doubek on April 27, 1974. One son was born to this union.  Charles was a farm manager at Wilbur Farms in West Union and worked at Pro Earth Environmental in West Union, Iowa. He retired in 2014 due to health reasons.  Charles was a member of the Clermont Activity Club, West Union Jaycees, Fayette County Fair Board, Holy Name Catholic Church and St. Francis of Assisi. He enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, fishing, bowling, riding motorcycles, playing cards, golfing and softball leagues.

Charles is survived by his son, Dustin (Kayleen) Schott of Arlington, Iowa; two grandchildren, Duncan Schott and Brecken Schott; and his siblings, Larry Schott (Pam Polark) of Hampton, lowa, Sue Vorwald of Clermont, Iowa, Barb (Larry) Wolfs of Spring Grove, Minnesota; Joe ( Becky) Schott of West Union, Iowa; Randy ( Sherry) Schott of Ellendale, Minnesota; Marcia  (Randy) Wiedenhoff of Clermont, Iowa; Cheryle ( Leo)   Monroe of Ossian, Iowa;  Rick Schott of Elgin, Iowa; Kristy ( Kevin)  Meyer of Clermont, Iowa; Allen ( Jennifer) Schott of Clermont, Iowa; Deanna Pritchard of Watertown, Wisconsin, Jerrel (Christy) Schott of Mason City, Iowa, and Tim (Lynae) Schott of Sauk City, Wisconsin; and sister-in-law, Jean (Ralph) Hoeck.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Doris Schott; and one brother, Terry Schott.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at St. Peter’s Catholic  Church, Clermont, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before Mass at the church on Thursday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Clermont, Iowa with Rev. Don Komboh as the celebrant.

Burial will follow at Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa.Schutte- Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Clermont, Iowa is helping the family with services.
