Shirley Ann Sadler, 75, of Cascade, Iowa, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa surrounded by her family.

Services for Shirley will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018) at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa with Rev. Douglas Loecke presiding and Msgr. Wayne Ressler and Very Rev. Mark Ressler and Rev. Loras Otting concelebrating. 

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home before the services.

Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.

Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley Ann was born June 16, 1943 in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Palmer Elmer and Florence Helen (Hemesath) Johnson. 

She was a graduate of Ossian DeSales.  

On June 19, 1965 she was united in marriage with Robert Sadler at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.   

Shirley was employed at Aquin Elementary in Cascade, Iowa.  

She enjoyed a good card game, she loved cooking, she especially enjoyed spending time with Bob, her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert Sadler of Cascade, Iowa; four children, Michael (Amanda) Sadler of Frisco, Texas, William (Jill) Sadler of Durand, Ill., Terence Sadler of Warroad, Minn., and Kathy (Joe) Bargo of Iowa City, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Robbie Sadler, Emily Sadler, Abby Sadler, Ryann Sadler, Katelyn Bargo, Lauren Bargo and Megan Bargo; six siblings, Sharon (David) Mashek of Spillville, Iowa, Mary Lou (Ray) Gleason of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Linda (Dennis) Hageman and Jean (Monte) Martin, both of Ossian, Iowa, Denise (Randy) Henning of Elgin, Iowa, and David (Brenda) Johnson of Ossian, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Mark Johnson; and a sister in infancy.
