The Warrior boys’ basketball team split its two Upper Iowa Conference matchups last week, falling to a strong North Fayette Valley team, but rebounding with a big win over Clayton Ridge.

South Winn traveled to West Union Tuesday night to take on the NFV TigerHawks.

The Warriors got out to a fast start, jumping out to a 17-11 lead after the opening quarter; however, it was all NFV after that, as SW fell, 50-43.

The Warriors were led by the senior duo of Levi Lukes (14 points) and Cole Klimesh (10 points), while junior Jaron Todd had a team-high six rebounds.

“This was a good conference win for us against a good opponent,” said coach Blake Moen after the victory. “I was happy with our start and overall play for the game. Clayton Ridge went on a run in the fourth (quarter), but our guys did a good job of staying under control and finishing the game strong.”
