Neil Ingersoll

Neil H. Ingersoll, 91, of Fayette, Iowa died on Tuesday evening, Aug. 14, 2018. 

Funeral Service:  10:30 A.M. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018 at Fayette Community Church in Fayette, Iowa with Chaplain Dwayne Potter officiating.

Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Maynard, Iowa is assisting the family.

Interment: Grandview Cemetery, Fayette, Iowa.

Neil Henry Ingersoll was born Aug. 3, 1927 in Plainfield, Iowa, the son of Fred and Lydia (Seaman) Ingersoll.  

Following his education, Neil served in the U.S. Army. 

Neil was united in marriage to Darlene Margaret Vandersee on Sept. 4, 1949 in Waverly, Iowa.  

Neil farmed, worked at John Deere Tractor Works and was owner of the Darn Barn Antique Store.  

He was a member of the Lutheran Church.  

Neil enjoyed antiquing, fishing, woodworking and his family.

Neil is survived by his five children, Bruce (Becky) Ingersoll of Fayette, Ron Ingersoll of Randalia, Marcia Mihall of Port Richey, Fla., Paulette Reed of Phoenix, Ariz., and Rick (Mary) Ingersoll of Merrill, Wis.; eight grandchildren, Aric Ingersoll, Brett Ingersoll, Jessica Gross, Chelsea Mihall, Austin Reed, Darrick Reed, Ross Reed and Dallas Ingersoll; nine great-grandchildren and a brother, Wilbur (Elizabeth) Ingersoll.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years, Darlene, on April 13, 2017; two brothers and their wives, Everett (Mabel) Ingersoll and Wayne (Burnett) Ingersoll; a sister and her husband, Arlene (Albert) Kammeyer; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis (Vandersee) Tielebein.         34u34
