NFV wrestle-offs Friday

NFV wrestling will determine its starters for the first matches of the season Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the main gym.

Wrestlers at disputed weights will meet, with the winner representing the TigerHawks Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1 and 2, at the tournament in Independence.

As a special attraction, several of the coaches will square off against each other, including a special match between head coach Jacob Pedersen and 2016 state champion Jordan Baumler. 

Pedersen, who wrestled for Upper Iowa in the lighter weights, will face the reigning champion at 220 in a match that should be good for Baumler’s conditioning as he chases his coach around the mat. 

The wrestle-offs are free to the public and should be over around 7 p.m.
