Winneshiek Fair fast approaching

Buttons for the 2016 Winneshiek County Fair in Decorah are on sale! The buttons, which are available for $30 in advance and $35 at the gate (ages 6 and under are free), are good for admittance to all five 2017 Grandstand events.

The Grandstand events include stock car racing at Upper Iowa Speedway on Tuesday evening, July 11; National Tractor Pulling Association (NTPA) Truck and Tractor Pull on Wednesday, July 12; America’s premier tribute band Arch Allies, as well as opener Trouble Shooter on Thursday, July 13; country music star Scotty McCreery with opener Drew Baldridge on Friday, July 14; and CC Bull Riding and Barrel Racing on Saturday, July 15.

Buttons can be obtained in any of several different fashions, including from 4-H leaders, Fair Board members, online, and at several local businesses, which will be announced at a later date.

To purchase online with a credit card or PayPal account, visit www.winneshiekcountyfair.org/buttons.html and click “Buy Now.” After purchasing, the buttons will be available under the Grandstand across from the Fair Office.

Buttons are also available at the following local businesses:

• Ossian – Casey’s, Farmer’s Union Co-op, Luana Savings Bank, and State Bank;
• Calmar – State Bank;
• Spillville – Citizen’s Savings Bank and Main Street Mini Mart;
• Decorah – Bank of the West (main bank and drive-up), Decorah Bank and Trust (main bank and drive-up), Decorah Implement, Decorah Mart, Extension Office, Fareway, Farmers and Merchant’s Bank, Kernd Brothers Bank, Kwik Star, Margarets, Marine Credit Union, ThriftyWhite, Napa Auto Parts, Northeast Security Bank, Quillin’s, T-Bock’s, Thornton’s, and Viking State Bank (main bank and drive up);
• Fort Atkinson – Citizen’s Savings Bank and Lickety Split;
• Ridgeway – CUSB Bank and Engen’s Express;
• Burr Oak – County Express, Kirkeby’s, and Barney’s;
• Highlandville – Highlandville Store;
• Waukon – Village Farm and Home;
• Monona – Fisk Farm and Home.

If not prepurchased, buttons will be available at the fair in the area under the Grandstand, across from the office.
