Gertrude A. Bachle, 99, of Maynard, Iowa died on Wednesday evening, November 11, 2015 at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette.

 

Funeral Service:  10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Maynard with Rev. Dennis Frank officiating.

Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the church.

Interment:  Long Grove Cemetery, Maynard, Iowa.

A Memorial Fund has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Maynard is in charge of arrangements.

Gertrude Alma Bachle was born on December 16, 1915 in Lamont, Iowa the daughter of August & Katharine (Kerchner) Bachle.  She was baptized on February 20, 1916 at Lamont by Rev. Carl Rembolt.  In 1921 the family moved to the Maynard area where they farmed.  The family joined St. Paul Lutheran Church and it was there that Gertrude was confirmed on March 24, 1929 by Rev. A. Hoferman.  She graduated from Maynard High School in the Class of 1934.  In 1980 she moved to Maynard with her brothers, Oscar and Karl.  Gertrude was a resident of Maple Crest Manor in Fayette since 2004.  She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active in the church for many years.  Gertrude dedicated her life to her family.  She was the caretaker for her parents and brothers, Oscar and Karl.  Gertrude enjoyed her life on the farm working in her huge vegetable and flower gardens and also her time canning, crocheting, quilting and sewing. 

 

Gertrude is survived by a Sister-In-Law:  Virginia Bachle of Stockton, California;

Nephew: Larry (Wilda) Bark of Fayette;

Niece:  Linda (Mike) Patterson of Sloan;

Nephew:  Jim Bachle and family of Stockton, California;

Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Great Great Nieces and Great Great Nephews.

 

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers:  Oscar, Karl, Albert and Henry; 2 sisters:  Bertha Bark (2-9-2014) and a sister in infancy and a nephew:  William “Bill” Kreutner.
