Ida Mae Olson, 89, of Postville, Iowa died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Stoney Brook Village in West Union, Iowa. 

Ida Mae was born on September 1, 1925 to Frank and Edna (Clark) Severn in Dubuque, Iowa. 

After graduating from Postville Community School, she attended and graduated from the Finley School of Nursing in Dubuque, Iowa in 1946. 

Ida Mae married Cliff Olson on February 1, 1947 and four children were born to this union. 

Ida worked as a registered nurse at the Postville Community Hospital, the Good Samaritan Home in Postville and was the school nurse for the Postville Community Schools for many years from which she retired in 1995.

They moved in 1992 from the farm near Postville into town and later moved to Stoney Book Village in West Union in November 2010.

She was a member of the East Clermont Lutheran Church.

Survivors include four children, Frank (Mary) Olson, West Union, Jeanne (Larry) Wolfe, West Salem, Wisconsin, Judy (Glen) Dean, Postville, Rodney (Petra) Olson, Drakenstein, Germany; eight grandchildren, Jacob (Leslie) Olson, Andrew (Kristen) Olson, Eric (Nicole) Wolfe, Jennifer (Tom) Acton, Jody (Jon) McKowen, Jed (Jess) Dean, Melissa and Kevin Olson; seventeen great-grandchildren, Kayla, Natalie, Jack and Willow Olson, Ashley and Hillary Wolfe, Bailey, Brynn and Blake Acton, Trey, Drew and Cade McKowen, Sarah, Taylor, Peyton, Ryan and Jared Dean; one brother, Eugene Severn, Postville and one sister, Marilyn (Henry) Hemesath, Monona.

Ida Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff; her parents and one brother, Allen.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 29, 2015, from 5-8 pm at the Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville, Iowa.  Visitation was also held one hour before services at the church on Tuesday, June 30.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at 11:00 am at East Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, Iowa.  The Rev. Ron Roberts officiated.  Burial followed in East Clermont Lutheran Cemetery.
