Saturday was the first day high school football teams could practice with pads. To celebrate, North Fayette Valley held a scrimmage on the practice field and receiver Nick Baumler made this spectacular diving catch from QB Trevor Hurd. Sports Drink FB Scrimmage Thursday

Fans will get to see the 2014 version of the North Fayette Valley TigerHawk football team Thursday at the annual Sports Drink Scrimmage.

Fans can get a glimpse of what the team has to offer by just bringing a bottle of any kind of sports drink. Players need to really hydrate during a game, especially early in the season when humidity levels are usually very high.

Thursday will kick off at 6:30 p.m., with the freshmen playing the sophomores; the varsity scrimmage will follow at 7:30 p.m.

The season kicks off Friday, Aug. 29, at 7:30 p.m. as Class 3A Decorah comes to West Union in a nondistrict match.
