Blue Devil golfers open home season

West Central opened its home golf season Tuesday, April 22, at Big Rock Country Club in Fayette.
In a very close match, Central/Elkader proved to be rude guests, edging the Blue Devils, 186-188.
Chase Grimm won medalist honors for the Devils, carding a first-rate round of 37 on the windswept course.
Hud Johnston was second for WC with his 46. Also scoring for the varsity were Miles Walenceus (51) and Brady Forsyth (54).
Others representing WC were Kaleb Kime (56), Dustin Richards (54), Jordan Taylor (57), Adam Cannon (52), Andrew Sharff (55), and Dustin Gordon (58).
In the girls’ match, Cheridan Brickman fired a 59 and Beth Meyer shot a 64.
The next matches will be Monday, April 28, against Sumner-Fredericksburg at Big Rock Country Club and Tuesda, April 29 at Turkey Valley.
