Patricia M. Zweibohmer, 85, of Lisbon, formerly of Ossian, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. 

Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Jan. 17, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Ossian, with Msgr. Cletus Hawes as the Celebrant.

Burial followed at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery in Ossian.

Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Ossian, assisted the family with the arrangements.

Patricia Mae, the daughter of Raymond and Charlotte (Keck) Lewis, was born March 4, 1928, in Decorah. Pat was baptized and confirmed at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Decorah and attended St. Benedict’s Parochial School.  Pat graduated from Ossian High School. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a dental assistant. 

She was united in marriage to Arthur Zweibohmer on Nov. 15, 1947, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian. Pat became a homemaker and raised her five children, Michael, Kathy, Mark, Carol, and Gerald. 

After raising her kids, Pat worked for Northern Engraving Corp in Waukon and she managed the Calmar Country Club. She earned her Nurse’s Aide Certification through Hawkeye Tech and then worked at the Ossian Senior Hospice for several years.

Pat was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon. She was an honorary member of the St. Francis de Sales Rosary Society. Pat enjoyed watching “Days of Our Lives,” reading, and dining out. “GP” especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and she never missed a birthday or anniversary.

Pat is survived by her children, Michael Zweibohmer of Decorah; Kathy (John) Barnhart of Mechanicsville; Mark (Gail) Zweibohmer of Ossian; Carol (Laverne) Meyer of Elgin; and her daughter-in-law, Jude Zweibohmer of Ossian; eleven grandchildren, Matthew (Kassia) Zweibohmer, Shelley (Matthew) Bigler, Mick Zweibohmer, Mitchel (Tiffany) Zweibohmer, Heather (Isaac) Tashjian, Jeff (Sue) Hintz, Melissa (Greg) Larimer, Andrew (Ashley) Zweibohmer, Stephanie Reffuge, Jason Meyer, and Amanda Zweibohmer; 16 great-grandchildren, Raymond, Grace, Seth, Ashley, Ryan, Allison, Janessa, Mason, Samarra, Josie, Brie, Caleb, Quinn, Dalton, Logan, and Samuel; and two sisters-in-law, Marie Monroe and Eunice Zweibohmer, both of Ossian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Art, who died on Oct. 25, 1983; her son, Gerald Zweibohmer, who died April 12, 2001; her parents; twin grandchildren; and a great-grandson, Thomas.
