Mr. and Mrs. Alex Kenyon

…united in marriage…

Lindsay Klinkefus and Alex Kenyon of Coralville exchanged wedding vows in a 5 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 10. Marsha Acord and Paul Shultz officiated at the ceremony, which took place at the Coralville Marriott in Coralville.

Parents of the couple are Mark and Marci Klinkefus of West Union and Tim and Barb Kenyon of Creston.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin fit-and-flare bridal gown with a removable train. The strapless sweetheart neckline was adorned with crystal beading. The fitted upper part of the gown featured asymmetrical ruching that led to three-dimensional floral details highlighting the detachable, ruffled, lower skirt. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of vanda orchids, mini green hydrangeas, orange spray roses, and purple stock flowers.

Serving as maid of honor was Jennifer Davis, cousin of the bride, of Chanhassen, Minn. Bridesmaids were Sara Parker of Des Moines, Stacie Lane-O’Brien and Tara O’Brien-Lane of Cedar Rapids, friends of the couple; and Elizabeth Kenyon, sister of the groom, of Creston.

The attendants wore floor-length, A-line-style dresses in plum-colored satin, each with a strapless sweetheart neckline.

Jacqueline Kenyon, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl.

The bride’s personal attendants were Nawaar Farooq and Brittany More, friends of the couple.

The groom chose his friend Colby Nordyke of St. Louis as his best man. Groomsmen were Kyle Bochart, friend of the couple, of Des Moines; Joe Kenyon, cousin of the groom, of Creston; Zach Sapato of Minneapolis, Minn., and Phil Kemp of North Liberty, friends of the couple.

The ring bearer was Maxwell Sash, cousin of the bride.

Seating the guests were Matt Klinkefus, Amy Klinkefus, and Jacob Knopf.

Heartstrings, a strings duet, provided the music.

Presiding at the guest book was Jill Clapper.

After the ceremony the couple were honored at a reception and dance, also held at the Coralville Marriott.

A North Fayette High School graduate, Lindsay earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and religious studies in 2008 and her master’s degree in social work in 2010, both from the University of Iowa. She is a social worker at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Alex earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Iowa in 2008. He is a benefits administrator at Mercer Administration.

The couple are at home in Coralville.
