The West Union Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has named Melissa Fagle of rural Fayette as the new West Union Chamber of Commerce director.

“Melissa impressed the entire West Union Chamber board with her excitement, enthusiasm and sharing of new ideas,” said West Union Chamber President Melody Patrick. “We hope the community provides Melissa with a huge welcome as she assists the Chamber in carrying out its current and future endeavors.

“At the same time, the Chamber board is very grateful to (Fayette County Economic Development director) Bill Ziegler and (FCED administrative assistant/tourism director) Bridget Parker for helping us during this transition,” she added.

Fagle, a Nashua native, explained that she applied for the position as a way to have more interaction with the West Union community, business owners, and residents from throughout Fayette County.

“I have lived in the West Union area for four years, and while I feel I have been active in local community events, I felt this position would provide me more interaction with the community,” said Fagle.

“I am excited to be in West Union and excited to work here. A large amount of commerce is conducted right here in West Union, she added. “I look forward to working alongside Bridget (Parker, Fayette County Tourism director), the local business owners, and meeting new community members.”

Fagle’s main duties will include following up on general requests for information, greeting and assisting in the reception area, taking and addressing phone inquiries, and office organization.

She officially begins her duties today (Wednesday). The new chamber director’s regular office hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

West Union Chamber of Commerce continues to share office space with FCED and Tourism at the corner of Elm and Vine streets. Melissa and her husband, Dan, have four children Chelsey, Nichole, Kayla, and Reed. The family operates Fagle View Farms and Fagle View Meats.
