With the new scoreboard entertaining the fans, North Fayette Valley held its annual Sports Drink Scrimmage on Thursday, Aug. 22.
The TigerHawk varsity looked impressive while playing the JV. The defense controlled the first quarter before the offense took over and dominated the second quarter.
“I saw that we have some really good athletes with a lot of team speed,” explained head coach Bob Lape. “We tried some different combinations and saw that we can interchange some people.”
Lape liked his team speed on defense. “We were really able to fly to the ball. That’s something we’ve really emphasized this fall – getting to the ball.”
The offense was its usual self in being able to move the chains. It was also able to break off some long plays.
“All in all, it was a pretty solid performance Now it’s onto Postville,” said Lape.
The first game will be Friday, Aug 30, at Postville; game time is 7 p.m.
Also on the 30th, the ninth graders will play a game at 5:15. The JV will host the Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars on Thursday, Aug. 29; game time will be 6:30 p.m.
