Ossian’s final Visioning concepts on display Aug. 10

Ossian’s final Visioning concepts on display Aug. 10

The residents of Ossian will have the opportunity to view the final conceptual landscape plan for the community during Ossian Fest at the Knights of Columbus Hall at the Ossian Fest breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10.

The concept boards will also be a part of the parade at 7 p.m. that evening. The concept boards are part of Ossian’s participation in the Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning Program this year.

Members of the Ossian Visioning Committee, Craig Ritland and Samantha Price of Ritland and Kuiper Landscape Architects, Iowa State University student intern Jake Wilson, and Trees Forever field coordinator Meredith Borchardt will be on hand to discuss the projects and answer questions.

Some of the projects that have been addressed include Carey’s Park, downtown/Main Street, local trail connections, and Silver Springs Park.

The Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning Program is a transportation enhancement planning program for Iowa towns of 10,000 or less in population.  It is sponsored by the Iowa Department of Transportation in partnership with Iowa State University Extension Landscape Architecture and Trees Forever.
