West Union Triathalon returns June 30

Registration continues for the annual West Union Triathalon scheduled for Sunday, June 30. The event will be held at the West Union Recreation Complex and Aquatic Center.

The race begins at 8 a.m. at the local aquatic center with a 3.1-mile run. The runners will follow the North Fayette cross-country course, before hopping on bikes and a 16-mile loop along the neighboring countryside. The participants will then return to the aquatic center for a 200-yard swim. 

The event is open to individual athletes or three-person relay teams. Persons under age 18, must have a parent or legal guardian register.  

Pre-race packets may be picked up at the Aquatic Center from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, or from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on the day of the event. The race will only be cancelled in the case of lightning. There are no refunds.

Separate awards will be presented to top male, female, co-ed, and youth individuals and/or teams.

Children ages 5 to 8 are also invited to participate in a duathalon at the aquatic center.

Proceeds from this year’s event will go toward Clark Park and Rotary Park renovations.
