As North Fayette and Valley school officials continue the recently approved whole-grade sharing process, school officials of the neighboring school districts have announced the establishment of the “NFV TigerHawks Fund” and related “TigerHawks Leaders Club.

The two school districts earlier reported an estimated budget of $60,000 for purchasing varsity uniforms for the inaugural season of TigerHawks athletics and fine arts in 2013-2014.

However, the administrators acknowledge that the purchase of all new uniforms for sub-varsity, middle school or fine arts activities will be a fiscal challenge. The current plan is to use three years of activity revenues and donations before making the complete changeover to NFV TigerHawk colors and logos. In the meantime, some teams and events would continue using either North Fayette or Valley uniforms and robes.

At the same time, officials of both school districts agree that sub-varsity and middle school uniforms do not have to be as expensive as the varsity units. It is estimated that $20,000 to $30,000 could outfit all teams in the new school colors emblazoned with the TigerHawks logo. Plans also continue for new marching band uniforms, choir robes, signage and other identifying equipment around each school.

In an effort to potentially accelerate the transition, school administrators, staff, and other supporters have announced the establishment of the “NFV TigerHawks Fund.”

As part of the fund drive, donations (no matter how big or small) will go toward the transition of the new school colors and mascot at all levels. The public is reminded that all donations to this fund are tax-deductible and can be earmarked toward a specific activity(ies) as desired.

While the administrators and coaches will have the responsibility of deciding how to spend the funds for any activity, donors are assured that a donation earmarked for one area will be spent accordingly.

As a special incentive and in appreciation of those continuing to support the new partnership between the North Fayette and Valley communities, school officials have announced the establish of the “TigerHawk Leaders Club,” which will recognize all donations at both schools. Donors to the “TigerHawk Leaders Club” at various levels (see accompanying donation form on page) will be eligible to receive limited edition NFV TigerHawks apparel and free passes to all events.

Ordering for fall uniforms will begin immediately.  The public is encouraged to jump-start the “TigerHawk Leaders” spirit by promptly stepping forward, so needs for more uniforms and equipment at all levels may be addressed.

For more information or to make a donation, contact North Fayette activity director Ron Imoehl at (563) 422-3852 or Valley activity director Ardel McCartney at (563) 426-5551.
