Homestead Iowa Realty wins team title; Stahl/Jensen doubles queens

Sadler wins 3 events at Women’s City Bowling

Lilac Lanes in West Union was a beehive of activity over the weekend as some 60 bowlers competed in the West Union Women’s All-City Bowling Tournament. 

After the last pin had fallen, the 2013 champions were crowned.

Jessica Sadler won most of the individual honorssweeping the All-Events titles after rolling both the High Scratch (1617) and High Handicap (1893) Series. She also bowled the highest Singles Handicap Series with a 711.

Judy Roach was second in both All-Events categories with her 1565 and 1787. Carol Gibbs was second in the Singles competition with her total of 663.

Homestead Iowa Realty won the team title with a combined 3087, with handicap. Rolling for the champions were Betty Davis (651), Emma Piquard (572), Marla Aller (627), Carol Pfister (564), and Anne Sellers (671).

Not far behind the winners was team Coffee Cup with a 3065. Shelvy Scott (564), Ramona Cook (663), Brittney Bills (622), Ruth Knox (626), and Julie Lansing (590) were members of the runner-up team. 

In the Doubles competition, Nancy Stahl and Carol Jensen combined for a 1260. Marla Aller and Carol Pfister were 19 pins behind at 1241. Jennifer Everitt and Sadler pushed the top teams, coming in five pins out of second with a 1236.
