North Fayette to host high school open house

North Fayette High School is hosting an open house for students and parents from Valley on Friday, Feb. 22. The building will be open for parents and students to tour starting at 6 p.m. Hawk Helpers will be in attendance to serve as guides, as well as teachers to answer questions that people may have.

At 6:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) Principal Todd Wolverton will lead a question-and-answer session. He will provide some information about some of the differences that students will encounter when they start the school year. He will then field questions about anything that is on the minds of students and parents about what is in store for North Fayette Valley High School starting next fall.

Wolverton said, “I look forward to meeting the new families that will be joining us next year and want to make certain that they have as clear of a picture as possible about how things operate at the high school. We also have a number of changes that we plan to put in place that I am excited to share. We also welcome anyone from the North Fayette community to attend. I recognize that many people have plans on Friday evening, but we wanted to give people the chance as early as possible to come in for a visit.”

Over the course of the next few weeks, students from both North Fayette and Valley will be working through the process of course registration, and planning is underway for visits to the high school for not only students coming from Valley, but also incoming ninth-graders from North Fayette.

Student Council members from both schools will meet three times over the course of the next month, working together on a number of topics planning for next year.

Valley is planning a similar open house geared toward 2013-2014 North Fayette Middle School parents at its school on Monday, March 4. The event is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Additional details on the Valley Middle School Open House will be published when they are made available.
