County wants to sell Inspiring Lives former Prairie View facilities

County wants to sell Inspiring Lives former Prairie View facilities

The Fayette County Board of Supervisors wants Inspiring Lives to pay up. The County wants to sell the building and grounds which was once know as Prairie View, a mental health care facility that the County contracted services for.

Inspiring Lives now operates the facility privately and provides supportive and skill building services to adults with mental health illnesses. It is located at 18569 Lane Rd., between West Union and Fayette. The County still owns the building and property.

Inspiring Lives, a non-profit organization, submitted a $1 offer to lease the building and grounds for a year.

“It has been the lease that it would be $1 rent a year. We provide all upkeep and repairs though, even though that isn't how the lease reads,” said Inspiring Lives Administrator Laura Peyton.

“That’s not an offer,” said Supervisor Janell Bradley.

Inspiring Lives Board President Ruth Lau replied, “You said any offer done in good faith. I guess we don’t really know what we are making an offer on. I thought you would give us the parameters before you would reject our offer. ”

Where are you going to be this Saturday night? If your answer is anything besides at the Fayette County Fair for the Gary Allan concert, you can be assured that you will be missing out on a night of fun and entertainment. The country music superstar, whose hits have spanned over multiple generations, will be the featured performance of the night as he will take the stage following the Cory Farley Band and Sara Evans (6:30 p.m.).

“I want everyone to come to the show prepared to have a good time,” said Allan in an exclusive interview with the Union-Echo-Leader last week. “We are going to play the hits, some fan favorite album cuts, and a few new songs from my newest album, Ruthless.”
