“Being pregnant with twins is high risk, but being pregnant with Mono/Di (monochorionic/diamniotic) twins is even more high risk,” said Allison Rose of her pregnancy with her now eight-month old twin boys, Kip and Ridge.
“They had their own sacs, but shared a placenta,” Rose explained adding that this condition led to regular check-ups to watch out for a syndrome called TTS (twin to twin transfusion syndrome) which is when one baby gets more nutrients than the other.
“Fortunately, we did not encounter that,” said Rose. “Although, Baby B ended up being SIUGR (selective intrauterine growth restriction) and was measuring a bit smaller than Baby A.”
When Allison and her husband, Nick found out they were expecting their twin boys, they were excited to add to their growing family.
