Senior year is something most look forward to. It means that for the 39 seniors at South Winneshiek, the end of their time as Warriors is drawing close. It also marks a transition period in their lives where they start the next part of their futures.

For South Winneshiek students Celia Neuzil and Madison Kriener, the Valedictorian and Class President, respectively, this year has been one to remember. ”I’m not exaggerating when I said that my class has had it rough,” said Neuzil, whose senior class has endured the Pandemic and other challenges throughout their final year of school. “The resilience everyone has shown in the face of everything life has thrown their way is astounding. I think that resilience is going to stick with tem and I think it’s helped prepare them well for any challenges to come. To put simply, they’ve made it through all this of this – they can make it through anything!”

With the class’s Commencement ceremony set for 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at the South Winneshiek baseball field (inside the gymnasium if weather prevails), the class is ready to set sails on their futures – which have been shaped by their time at South Winneshiek.
