Fayette County Sheriff Marty Fisher has made it easier than ever to dispose of expired or no longer in use prescription drugs.

A new “Take Back” drop off box is now located right outside the door at the Fayette County Law Enforcement Center in West Union’s Industrial Park. It is available 24-7 for disposal of drugs that people are trying to dispose of.

“Before people had to come inside to drop off the drugs for disposal. Now they can just drive up, get out of their car and drop it off. This works a lot better, especially in this time of Covid,” Fisher pointed out.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all of our hard work that we’ve put into the building pay off,” smiled the area’s newest business owner, Jessica Billmeyer of her newly opened salon, Renew Beauty & Wax Studio.

For Billmeyer, the journey to open her Clermont salon has been a long one, one that would take her down a variety of paths before she found her perfect spot, right on Clermont’s main street.

“I got into makeup when my daughter, Nalla, got sick a few years ago,” said Billmeyer of how she first got into the field that would eventually lead her towards owning her own business.

“I had to stay home to take care of her, and a friend of mine got me involved in a makeup company,” she explained.  “Eventually, I thought I could keep going with that and went to school to become an esthetician not long after that.”

While Billmeyer knew early on that she would eventually want to open her own salon and studio, she had no idea that she would be making such a move during a global pandemic.
