No sign up for Covid-19 vaccine

No sign-up for Covid-19 vaccine

Winneshiek County Public Health is asking for the community to help by having some patience as the state continues to distribute the Covid-19 vaccine.

“We are working to complete Phase 1A and will not be starting Phase 1B until February. Iowa Department of Public Health sent out an updated Phase 1B and tier listings that will include persons 65 years and older as well as other tiered priority groups,” said  Winneshiek Public Health Director Nancy Sacquitne.

“However, vaccine remains in short supply. This means not everyone in Phase 1B will be able to get vaccine right away. In each county, further prioritization must occur due to vaccine shortage and not being able to vaccinate everyone at once. All counties are working to distribute the vaccine safely to our communities.,” she continued.
