The Grinch spotted in Ossian

The Grinch has been spotted in Ossian! Be on the look out for the iconic holiday character that will be making appearances around the community in the weeks leading up to Christmas. While the real Grinch’s ‘heart may have been two sizes too small,’ Ossian’s own Grinch is showing just how big his heart really is by trying to send a positive message and spread holiday spirit! “The Grinch hated Christmas! The whole Christmas season! Now, please don’t ask why. No one quite knows the reason. It could be his head wasn’t screwed on just right. It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight. But I think that the most likely reason of all, May have been his heart was two sizes too small.”

While that may have been the case for the real Grinch from Who-ville, it couldn’t be any more opposite for Ossian’s very own Grinch.

Santa and Mrs. Claus in Ossian Saturday

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in Ossian on Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Ossian Community Center.

A "Santa Mailbox" is in front of the Community Center and kids of all ages are encouraged to drop their letters off to Santa.

Santa will arrive at 11 a.m. and be at the Community Center until every child gets a chance to greet  him. The recent Covid health issue will mean Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the front window of the Community Center to wave at and greet the kids. All children will remain outside the building, but will receive a special treat from Santa and Mrs. Claus or their elves.

Families are asked to wear face masks, practice social distancing while in the Santa line and are encouraged to sanitize their hands before and after the visit.

Bring your cameras for your holiday picture through the window
