Even though there won’t be a State Fair this year, it doesn’t mean that 4-Hers and FFA members have quit working on their yearly projects.

“At  this time the 4-H and FFA members are encouraged to continue working on exhibits for the County Fair.  I have no idea what will take place with the State Fair (competitions) but know that the 4-H is working with the State Fair Board and we’ve been told that details will be shared next Wednesday (today, June 24) during a zoom session with the State 4-H Program Director, Dr. Debbie Nistler,” said Michele Kelly the Fayette County Youth Coordinator for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

The North Fayette Valley softball team was finally able to get the summer 2020 season underway as the team opened the season with a pair of wins over Upper Iowa Conference foe Postville on Monday evening.

“It was a great way to get the season going and I have to give credit to the kids for buying in,” said first year head coach Brent Kuker following the 12-0 and 15-3 wins over the Pirates. “I also have to give a lot of credit to our assistant coaches, Rachael Strong and Bailey Monroe. Their love for the game, energy, and knowledge have helped this program immensely.”
