The Winneshiek County Fair Board met Monday night, May 11, for their regular monthly meeting. One of the topics was the 2020 Fair.

Fair Board member DeAnn Christopher reported there were a lot of questions and concerns “that go far beyond the scope of our usual business. We as a Board are taking these questions very serious for our community.”

Will it be held, if it is held, in what capacity, were some of the questions that came up.

May 17-23, 2020, is the 46th annual National EMS Week. In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities. This week was designated to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine's "front line."

One of those people working on the “front line” is Jerry Anderson.

Jerry Anderson has  been an EMT with the Clermont Ambulance for 46 years.

Jerry’s start in the EMT field wasn’t something that he had planned on or even thought that much about prior to  getting involved.
