Resale Therapy opens bigger location

Resale Therapy recently moved to a new building just south of its former location on Highway 18 in Clermont. Owner (l-r) Chris Larson and employee Jen Hruska, holding her daughter Emmery, have rescued a lot of positive feedback about the move, which has nearly doubled the retail space available to the consignment shop. Chris DeBack photo

Resale Therapy in Clermont has moved.

However, the store didn’t move very far as it is now located in the building to the south of its former location, which used to house the former business Grown Locally.

“We noticed the building was up for sale, and we came over and had a look at it,” said Chris Larson, Resale Therapy owner. “We had considered buying the building we were in, but this is a much more affordable option, and it was also more accommodating for our needs.

Despite a strong first-half performance, the West Central girls’ basketball team fell to the Starmont Stars, 53-39, in the first round of the Class 1A Region 4 playoffs.

After Starmont scored the game’s first points, junior Braidyn Buhrow countered, scoring on an offensive rebound while drawing a foul. She made the free throw to put the Blue Devils up early. The teams traded buckets over the next several possession before WC jumped out to a seven-point lead. Kenzie Squires scored, and was fouled off an inbounds pass and made the accompanying free throw.

Blue Devils finish regular season

The West Central boys’ basketball team ended its season with a 13-game losing streak with losses to Clayton Ridge, 63-27, and Jesup, 74-18, last week.

The Blue Devils’ defense was stiff in the first quarter Tuesday evening, Feb. 7, allowing Clayton Ridge just seven points. WC scored five; however, it always seems the Blue Devils have one bad quarter each game that tends to put them on the ropes. This game was no different as Clayton Ridge outscored WC, 19-9, in the second quarter and 23-6 in the third quarter.

The height of the New Hampton Chickasaws, coupled with the charity stripe, kept the North Fayette Valley girls from advancing in the Class 3A District 5 regional playoffs Saturday in New Hampton.

NH, which features four players between 5’10” and 5’11”, had already beaten the TigerHawks in the first game of the season by 20 points. Saturday, NH won, 61-53.
