When the North Iowa Tractor Ride rolls out of West Union on Friday, July 17, Chuck Sprague will be on the seat of his 1954 Farmall Super M. And if her schedule allows, his wife, Karla, will be at his side, on the buddy seat crafted from an old school bus seat Chuck bought from longtime Fayette resident Jim Miller, now living in LaCrescent, Minn.

The Spragues are avid tractor ride participants, whether it's an organized event or simply a drive out into the country on their own. They enjoy the ICATS Ride out of Elgin and the Watermelon Days Tractor Ride.

The Warriors closed out the regular season Friday night, July 10, when they traveled to Lisbon to take on the Class 1A No. 3-ranked Lions. In game one, it was all Lisbon as it shut out the Warriors, 12-0. In game two, however, the Warriors bounced back to earn the 11-8 win.

In game one, Lisbon jumped on the Warriors early, tallying six runs in the bottom of the first inning. It added two more in the second inning and four runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Offensively, South Winn managed only four singles. On the mound, the Lions got to the young Warrior pitchers early and often. Sophomore Joel Hanson and freshman Hunter Todd each pitched two innings, allowing a total of nine earned runs.
